The Faces of Ma..
MA is the Japanese concept of the void between all "things."

Ma is filled with nothing but energy and feeling. It speaks of silence as opposed to sound, of lack as opposed to excess, the silence between the notes that make the music…
It makes me think of the silence between friends.. when the silence is not empty but full of words that don’t need to be spoken…How lovely is that..
This painting of Ma was done in 4 sections but painted together. They stand alone or as a whole.

The Kettle's Yard gallery was conceived as a “living place where works of art could be enjoyed” by Jim & Helen Ede. Entry to the house is gained by pulling on a door bell, continuing a tradition of 'open house' started by Ede. This link is to an interesting article about Jim Ede and the birth of Kettle’s Yard. One of my favourite galleries & place to visit is Hauser & Wirth in Bruton, Somerset. Amazing gallery and the gardens were designed by “PIET OUDOLF, THE INTERNATIONALLY-RENOWNED LANDSCAPE DESIGNER FROM THE NETHERLANDS. HE DESIGNED THE OUDOLF FIELD – A LARGE PERENNIAL MEADOW SITUATED BEHIND THE GALLERY BUILDINGS. At the top of Oudolf Field sits the Radić Pavilion. Designed by Chilean architect Smiljan Radić, it was installed at Hauser & Wirth Somerset in March 2015, following its unveiling the previous year at the Serpentine Gallery 2014 Pavilion.
