This was an artistic collaboration with Juliet Farnese and we were one of only a few artists who were commissioned to provide a sculpture to be part of their “Night time Christmas Walk” held in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The sculpture was designed to appeal to a mixed audience, including families across a wide range of ages and abilities whilst enjoying their magical walk around the Hestercombe gardens on a cold wintery night.
Juliet and I worked on a Christmas Story Wall ( see Juliet's artist impression of the Wall below) made of Natural bamboo fencing (6ft 4" X 13ft approximately) which was used as a "natural canvas" to which I applied acrylic paint, sprays and gold and silver leaf. Juliet focussed on illustrating on coloured Perspex sheets that formed windows in the Bamboo panel, and these sheets depicted Christmas images such as holly; robin; Christmas tree; Angels etc
Candles were placed behind the structure provided lighting illuminating the windows providing a stained-glass effect in the Christmas Wall.
Installation date: December 2014
