I had a clear day so it was wonderful to be....

..able to go in to my studio area and get stuck in. The plan is still to have no plan but let my paintings emerge from the feelings and thoughts that I have. This affects the colour, texture and methods that I use. On this particular day I continued with some paintings that I had already started but had not finished. I am waiting for them to dry to decide if they are now finished or need more layers.

I also started a drawing..its an image that I have done before using chalk pastels. I tend to shy away from drawing so when I am in the mood its great to take the time to focus and block out those "I can't draw / I'm not good enough" thoughts!

The Kettle's Yard gallery was conceived as a “living place where works of art could be enjoyed” by Jim & Helen Ede. Entry to the house is gained by pulling on a door bell, continuing a tradition of 'open house' started by Ede. This link is to an interesting article about Jim Ede and the birth of Kettle’s Yard.
